Melanie McCormick
Melanie “Emmy” McCormick is the Executive Director of CASA of Carson City located in the capital seat of Nevada. Melanie brings nine years of child welfare experience to CASA of Carson City and has been the acting director for the past five years. Melanie is a native to Nevada born in Las Vegas but raised in Northern Nevada. Her passion for culture and history guided her hand in obtaining her degree in cultural anthropology from the University of Nevada Reno. Melanie’s compassion, drive and dedication to the children in her community make her a strong team player in advocating for children’s rights through Legislature and bringing forth education to the community. Melanie is a former member of Soroptimist International of Carson City. Melanie is continuing her path into child welfare by obtaining her Masters of Social Work. Having never intended to be in child welfare as an anthropologist, Melanie is a firm believer that life takes you where you are needed most, and her desire is to remain with CASA and advocating for children in foster care. In her free time, Melanie spends her days with her spouse and their two children.
